Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan, located in the Aravalli mountain range near the Gujarat border. Perched at an altitude of about 1,220 meters, it offers a cool climate, lush greenery, and stunning landscapes—making it a popular retreat from the desert heat of Rajasthan.
One of Mount Abu’s top attractions is the Dilwara Temples, an exquisite complex of white marble Jain temples known for their intricate carvings and architectural brilliance. Nakki Lake, located in the heart of the town, is ideal for boating and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Sunset Point and Honeymoon Point provide panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys, especially at dusk.
The hill station also houses the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to leopards, langurs, and many species of birds and flora. For spiritual seekers, Guru Shikhar, the highest peak in the Aravalli range, offers not just stunning views but also temples and a serene atmosphere.
Mount Abu blends natural beauty, historical charm, and spiritual significance. It’s best visited between October and March, when the weather is cool and pleasant. With its mix of culture, nature, and peace, it’s an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
